I work in a world of limitations.
I work in a world of requirements, accountability, and meeting a workforce capability.
I work in a world, where cybersecurity is of the utmost importance; and where protecting one’s, identity can mean life or death.
I work in a world where frivolous spending is a waste of public money. The idea of spending extra on user experience research or user interface feedback is just a dream.
I dream of a world without Citrix logons, something newer than windows 10 and where internet explorer is not the only browser something works on…. Yes, IE still exists!!!
So, assignment three means I can be frivolous. I can dream of beautiful interfaces, unclassified environments, and the ultimate usability that my imagination (and skills) can create a solution for a problem I stare in the face every day and cringe at.

How? I am currently rolling out an off the shelf software. A software that is designed for tertiary education. A software that has requires configuration to incorporate the epic scenarios of welfare, medical, mentorship, workforce learning tracking and integrations with the remainder of the Defence learning environment. One particular capability the software was deficient in was a board of review. The need to take a screenshot of a person. A moment in time during their learning and analysis where they are at and how they will progress. Originally, the software was configured to provide a rudimentary dashboard that could not provide the privacy and foundational features we sought. It looked like something from 1990s.

I want to design my wish list: practicality with ultimate UI. I want accessibility. I want to creatively capture a modern design configuration, but most of all, I want usability for the modern training workforce for the whole of Defence.
I read this week that a UX/UI designer's desire to create new things by using his natural instincts to make everyone's life easier. This is innovation. This is creativity and the continual improvement cycle of innovation.
So I have framed my problem, I have gathered inspiration like paint swatches.

Now it is time to make tangible ideas come true.
